Optimal bitrates are automatically computed by Vahana VR according to your panorama size and framerate.
Typically required bitrate would be:
- 5000-6000 kbps for a 2k stream
- 11000-12000 kbps for a 4k stream
You will not need very high bitrates for the following reasons:
- Most of the time, there are no or very few cuts in a 360 video.
- The content of the movie is very often quite static, there is no camera panning for instance.
For these reasons, the inter-frame compression works very well and allows smaller bitrate than a “standard” video.
If you have a moving 360 camera, you can multiply this value by a factor of about 2 depending on the movement.
